The GIIN seeks a temporary Analyst to support the Director of Finance & Operations on a special project related to intellectual property protection. This position is ideal for a business major interested in start-ups, venture capital, or impact investing or a pre-law student looking for practical exposure to intellectual property law. The project is estimated to take between 80-120 hours and may be completed over a period of one to three months, beginning as early as November 2021, depending on candidate availability.
Responsibilities:
- Review a curated selection of organizational publications and other intellectual property assets. Analyze for key criteria (as provided) to determine appropriate actions.
- Prepare and process copyright applications for submission to federal agencies.
- Provide general administrative support to the Director of Finance & Operations on matters related to the project, which could include managing correspondence, editing or drafting documents, or scheduling meetings.
- Research, prioritize, and follow up on project-related issues and concerns, including those of a sensitive or confidential nature. Determine appropriate course of action, referral, and/or response.
- Conduct light internet research as needed.
- Complete project tasks expeditiously, proactively, on time, and to successful completion.
FLEXIBILITY: This position is currently remote due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the analyst will be welcome in our New York, NY office as conditions permit.
COMPENSATION: $18 per hour.
